Rollins College Family Session
I get the question often – Can I bring my dog(s) to our portrait session. And the answer…YES!!!! OH MY GOODNESS YES! Please bring your fur babies! You all know I love my puppers and love any and every reason to take portraits with her. Here are some strategies when it comes to bringing your dog around for portraits.
First, you’ll want to make sure your location is pet-friendly. This goes beyond just a space that allows pets around. This means, are they going to get dirty due to wet muddy grass? Are they going to be distracted by the number of people or other pets walking around? Will they be comfortable in a new space or is something more familiar better? Finding a space they can keep clean and stay focused will keep everyone happy. Especially your light-colored clothing!
Simple and Sweet
As much as I am all about keeping sessions simple and low key, this is one type of session that does best with an extra pair of hands. Bring a family member or friend your dog trusts. Not only can they handle your pup while they are off-camera, but they help so much in grabbing their attention for a successful “look at the camera” pose.
When Olivia came to me with her Rollins College family session idea, we created the perfect plan to keep the dogs entertained and calm throughout. With the wonderful off-camera help of her sister, we were able to take all of our desired portraits without issue! It was such a joy to preserve such sweet memories for them to revisit time and time again!
