Christina & Kel’s Love Story

They both spent four years attending Florida State University and cheering on the Noles. That’s four years of classes (mostly in the same building!), four years of Mr. Roboto’s, four years of football games, four years of Gordo’s…..you get the picture!
The two are convinced their paths must have crossed a few times during college, but they somehow managed to never be introduced during that time. Christina and Kel graduated in 2011, just one semester apart. Upon graduation, Christina moved to Atlanta, GA to begin her career. Kel moved back to his hometown of Orlando, Fl to pursue a Master’s degree.
When Christina was called two years later to move back to her college town for a new job, she couldn’t believe it! Hadn’t she spent enough time in Tallahassee already!? After much prayer, she took a leap of faith and made the move back to the hilly terrain of North Florida. Simultaneously, Kel had just finished his Master’s Degree in Aviation Operations. Also offered a new job in Tallahassee, Kel packed up once again and made the move North!
Kel had a good friend from college working in Tallahassee at the time. He just happened to have an extra room available in his Southwood apartment, so naturally, Kel elected to take him up on his offer! Christina, wanting to find some separation from the college side of town, also found herself in that very same Southwood apartment complex. She signed a lease immediately upon seeing the beautiful grounds. Although they weren’t completely done building it at the time, she somehow knew she had found the right place for her! They didn’t know it at the time, but Kel and Christina were now living in not only the same city, the same apartment complex but also the same exact building!
A few weeks passed by and both Christina and Kel began to settle into their respective new jobs. Since the apartment complex wasn’t completely finished being built, they had to go into the office every day to claim their mail! One Tuesday, right before the Noles’ 2013 football home opener (that’s right…the National Championship season!), Kel found himself outside the mail room with Christina. He’d seen her around before but never had the opportunity to really talk to her. He casually introduced himself to her right there in the mail room. He asked her if she had anyone to attend the football game that weekend with. She didn’t really know anyone in town yet, so she agreed to go with him! He didn’t know it then, but she was beside herself with excitement!
That Saturday, they both attended FSU vs Nevada together. It was the start the 2013 National Championship season, their love, and a future filled with dreams and possibilities! They’ll forever love each other, forever believe in taking leaps of faith, and forever be the Noles biggest fans! <3
