Once upon a time, this photographer had all the nerves when it came to family sessions. Maybe it’s because I was younger, still learning the ropes and just didn’t know how to best manage sleepy little ones. However, I just can’t imagine loving family sessions any more than I do right now. Oh sure, they still intimidate me from time to time. Nonetheless, a little butterfly in the stomach is good for any artist to feel to keep them on their toes. Or at least, that’s what I’d like to think!
One of the *many* things I adore about this job includes watching families grow and adding little ones to their tribe. Maybe it’s getting a chance to witness their darling personalities in person come out throughout the session or seeing everyone interact so sweetly together. Either way, it’s a complete joy to document families in both the significant moments of life and the ever so sweet in-between moments.
Bok Tower Gardens Family Session
Capturing the Amundson Family was an absolute dream. Bok Tower Gardens has a way of removing you from city life just enough that time almost stands still. Romantic Spanish moss-covered oak trees and charming corners of the Pinewood Estate. Bok Tower truly feels new each visit. Plus the Florida fall sun as the ability to paint everything with the best it has to offer. Pair that *favorite* combo of mine with the smile and laughter between these three and it was just a match made in heaven!
I truly do not believe we could have asked for a better day to capture their love as a family. During their Bok Tower Gardens family session, we explored, laughed and soaked up every moment all while time truly felt as though it had stopped. If only time could slow down like that more often. Until then, I’ll keep doing my best to preserve those moments.
